What is PULSE?

Pulse is a group of local young professionals working to build a strong beat of commitment to heart health in the next generation of community leaders. It's your friends and coworkers gathering to educate, inspire and develop the habit of philanthropy dedicated to changing the health of a new generation. Making it so that the next one won't have to fight the same battle.Pulse is all about prevention. It's about staying strong, being steady, growing powerful in the fight to eliminate deaths from cardiovascular diseases and stroke. The people of Pulse know that the best results, the biggest breakthroughs, and the most fun come from working together. Join in the Pulse.

PULSE: LHH Committee Expectations

PULSE: LHH is a sub-committee of the overall PULSE committee. We focus on fundraising for the American Heart Association through the Lawyers Have Heart race and ancillary events. Many PULSE:LHH members are attorneys and staff in the law firm and legal vendor sectors, but the committee is open to anyone who would like to join!

PULSE: LHH Committee Goal: Raise $25,000 to fund one Recess by the River event, the AHA’s innovative program to fight the childhood obesity epidemic and educate low-income children in Washington, DC about healthy habits that can be carried into adulthood.

As a member of PULSE: LHH we ask you to:

Raise a minimum total of $1,000 for the American Heart Association through Lawyers Have Heart
Create an online fundraising page for Lawyers Have Heart – either personal or through your company and connect it to your social networking sites. Get your fundraising page started with a minimum $100 donation of your own.
Attend the event on June 12, 2010 and the ancillary events (tentatively scheduled for November, February, May and July).
Recruit 5 fellow young professionals to participate in the events that are planned by this sub-committee

In return for your commitment and support, the American Heart Association will:

Bring members together to make contacts and network with other Young Leaders Committee members as well as with prominent members of the Lawyers Have Heart Leadership Committee
List you and your company/firm affiliation on the Lawyers Have Heart website as well as the annual post-race newsletter distributed to all sponsors
Provide complete support as it relates to the Lawyers Have Heart Young Leaders Sub-Committee
Provide education and AHA mission-related information and resources outlining how you and your loved ones can live healthier, stronger lives.
