Road Closures & Parking Information

Road Closures

K Street will close no later than 7:00 AM. If you are driving, we encourage you to get to the Washington Harbour at Georgetown early.

For purposes of ensuring the safety of the runners, Canal Road, east of Reservoir Road and west of Foxhall Road will close at 6:00 AM. The south eastbound lane of M Street/Canal Road, between Whitehurst Freeway and Foxhall Road, will close at 7:15 AM. Whitehurst Freeway will close at 7:15 AM. The southeast bound lane of Foxhall Road, south of MacArthur Boulevard will close at 7:15 AM.

We encourage our Virginia participants to take Key Bridge (traffic from the Key Bridge will be able to make a left or right off Key Bridge), Teddy Roosevelt Bridge, or the 14th Street Bridge to get to the Washington Harbour at Georgetown. If you come over the Chain Bridge, you will be diverted onto Arizona Avenue to MacArthur Boulevard to Reservoir Road to Wisconsin Avenue. Proceed south on Wisconsin Avenue to the Washington Harbour at Georgetown. Participants coming from Maryland are encouraged to get on, or stay on, Wisconsin Avenue to get to Georgetown (not Foxhall Road, MacArthur Boulevard or Reservoir Road).

Parking

Please download and print a 2010 Lawyers Have Heart parking voucher. In the event you forget your voucher, Team LHH will have a supply available on race day at the information table.

$4 parking fee w/parking voucher from 6:00 AM-12:30 PM

Kennedy Center Garage:
The Kennedy Center garage will open at 6:00 AM on Saturday.

Please park on the C Level. The C Level will be open only at the south end of the building (the side that faces the Roosevelt Bridge).

The garage can be accessed from Rock Creek Parkway northbound and from Virginia Avenue and 25th Street. You only need to identify yourself as a Lawyers Have Heart participant or volunteer and your parking will be free.

Public Transportation

Metro

Blue or Orange line to Foggy Bottom. From there:

  • Walk north (left out of the station) on 23rd Street toward Washington Circle
  • Head west onto K Street (left) ending at the Washington Harbour (under the Whitehurst Freeway)

Bus

Directions from Friendship Heights Stations/Red Line/ Wisconsin Avenue, NW:

  • Take 32 or 36 Bus toward SOUTHERN AVE STATION or NAYLOR ROAD STATION
  • Get off at M Street, NW and 31st Street, NW
  • Walk west on M Street toward Thomas Jefferson Street, NW
  • Turn left on Thomas Jefferson Street, NW ending at the Washington Harbour
